Physical Description: Daffodil's a tiny thing, 5'5" and 105 lbs, just this side of too skinny. She's the epitome of an Irish lass, with smooth alabaster skin, deep red hair that falls in curls and waves, and big green eyes with a thick fringe of long, dark lashes. Her lips are full and pouty (not that she ever really pouts), and has graceful artist's hands. An enthusiastic nudist, she's naked whenever she has the choice. When she has to wear clothes, she often doesn't pay much attention to what it is that she's wearing - she's as likely to go out in a sari or peasant skirt and tank as she is an oversized men's suit, or perhaps renaissance garb or a simple, cute sundress. She also loves hats, so even when running around naked it's possible to find her wearing some elaborately flowered or otherwise decorated sun- or church hat. She thinks they're delightful.

Personality: Daffodil is, well... a little daffy. She's a dreamer and a bit of a spaz, with her head always somewhere else (probably miles away). She's utterly comfortable with who she is, though, and that comes through in everything she does. She has a quiet sort of self-assurance and the ability to let most things just roll off - which is how her nickname, Daffy, turned from a playground insult into a term of affection. She has a way of bringing people into her circle and making them feel welcome, as though they've been friends for years instead of acquaintances for minutes. She has a rather off-the-wall sense of humor, usually making herself laugh but not often anyone else, and is deeply in touch with her mystical side. She's constantly exploring her psychic ability (nonexistent), her connection to the earth and the moon (all in her head), and working to keep her energy in harmony with the great tapestry of life (she wouldn't know a tapestry of life if it bit her on the ass. harmoniously.) She's a vegan, a pacifist, and a strong supporter of free love. It's hard for her to get angry (unless it's something like deforestation or animal abuse or harming the earth) and she can't ever stay angry for long - she's too busy trying to make sure everyone's living a happy, healthy, harmonious life. It's her sacred duty as a daughter of Gaia, after all. She is, however, quite capable of bouts of civil disobedience for a cause she believes in - stealth gardening like they did in the sixties and seventies, sit-ins, and she's been arrested several times for indecent exposure when stripping down on the sidewalk to convince others to be comfortable in their own skin and to love each other as brothers.

Sexuality: Pansexual - she's attracted to people without regard for gender identity or biological sex.

History: Daffodil-Sunshine was born the hippie daughter of two hippies - her father, Micah Sunrise O'Reilly and her mother, Shelby Magnolia No Last Name. She was a late surprise for her parents, who had been in their early thirties when Woodstock rolled around. She's the baby of the family: her oldest sister, Crystal Dove, was born in '75, then came Dakota Rain in '77, and Rainbow Star in '78. Her parents met on a commune in California just outside Berkeley, and it was love at first sight, though they've never married (being proponents of free love as well, and not necessarily adverse to swinging and/or polyamory.) Anyway, when Daffodil-Sunshine came around in 1985, her parents were in their forties and not expecting another child - though they welcomed any addition to the family the earth mother sent them.

Life in the O'Reilly home was... unconventional, to say the least. Practically from birth, Micah Sunrise and Shelby Magnolia encouraged their daughters to go their own way, to be independent and unique individuals. Practicing Wiccans (of the human and powerless variety), they also taught their daughters to live in harmony with the earth, that they were sons and daughters of Gaia gifted with the ability to read and manipulate energies in the earth and other people. They explore everything from raising cones of power, tarot reading, palmistry, chakras, holistic medicine and sustainable living. (No one in Daffodil-Sunshine's family has any psychic or magical power whatsoever, yet is utterly convinced that they are the real thing, Daffy included. They do, however, all have incredibly green thumbs and affinities for animals, as well as share Daffy's distaste for clothing.)

The O'Reilly parents, though never the types for staid, boring jobs, realized the need for money (at least until society had evolved enough to make such capitalist mindsets obsolete) and started their own vegan restaurant, very popular with the hippie and Wiccan community, as well as other, more mainstream vegans. Though they purposefully keep the business just large enough to support their family (and indeed, end up doing a lot of bartering at the local farmer's market anyway), the Ethos Café is wildly successful and getting in for Sunday brunch almost requires camping out at 5 am. Not cut out for waitressing, Daffodil-Sunshine sometimes helps out by offering tarot or palm readings (for a small fee or trade) or various pieces of art that she hasn't given away (she's quite the talented sculptor and is branching out into clay beads and braided hemp jewelry.)

Since the Light of May: Daffodil was delighted with the Light of May - she'd known since she was a child that the supernatural was real - what else explained her psychic abilities and the special connection she had with the heavens and the earth? With secrets finally being shared, Daffodil hopes the world and all its cultures and peoples can find a way of living harmoniously with each other and the planet.

Special Skills/Abilities: Super-green thumb - so far, she hasn't found something she can't grow and help thrive. She also has an affinity for animals (they just love her), and is quite a skilled sculptor.

Personal Weaknesses: Distracted: Daffy has the attention span of -- ooh, look, birds! Sure, she can focus on something if there's not something more interesting (read: anything) going on, but the second you get into anything slightly complicated, bam! She's off smelling daisies or turning cartwheels and you'll have to start all over again. It's the bane of her family's existence - send her out for milk and eggs from the corner store and she'll come back six hours later with three frogs in a 7-11 cup and no memory of why she originally left the house.

Naive: Daffodil-Sunshine's incapable of seeing the world through anything other than rose-colored glasses. She firmly believes that the world is a good place and that, if given a choice, people will choose to do good and help their fellow man. Serial rapist on the loose? He's just misunderstood. She thankfully hasn't run into anyone who'd take advantage of her openness and trust, but that doesn't mean it can't or won't happen one day.

Gullible: If you told Daffy it was written on the ceiling, she'd give the place a thorough once-over before advising you that it must have worn off and offering to re-write it. She doesn't expect others to lie to her or make jokes at her expense, so she's always the last one to get them - half the time she doesn't even realize when someone's being sarcastic to her, and has to not only have it pointed out but then have the joke explained.

Delusional: Daffodil-Sunshine is 100% convinced that she has psychic ability and that she is a daughter of Gaia, a moonchild, put on the earth to keep Her energies balanced and promote harmony between men. She's constantly offering Tarot readings, palm readings, making herbal teas and practicing holistic medicine, gem therapy, chakra balancing... you name it, she believes she can do it.

Personal Strengths: Self-assured: Daffy's confident in who she is and how she lives her life. After all, an insecure person couldn't strip naked in the park and do an interpretive dance for peace and love around an oak tree. Half the time she doesn't hear or understand when people are making disparaging remarks and the last time she was arrested for public nudity she had the officers watching the holding cells practicing their meditation with her.

Peacemaker: Daffy's a pacifist and always tries to settle peaceful resolutions between any combatants she happens across. Beyond that, she just as an open, warm, welcoming nature that makes people feel at ease and instantly counts them as a friend. People sense that and usually respond positively to it; Daffy's inadverdently gained a lot of protectors and friends in this way.
